A Griffon Vulture, (Gyps Fulvus); the first one of its kind that I've ever seen even though they appear to be native to Europe, North Africa and Asia (there's even a few in my native Belgium it appears).

Despite the bad reputation of vultures these are truly majestic birds, they're about 95-110 cm (37-43 inch) long with a wingspan of 230-265 cm (91-105 inch). Very imposing up close.

Please don't hesitate to comment on what you like (or dislike) about the picture, any feedback is appreciated. Don't worry though, I won't kill you if you fav+run.

Thanks,

Ghost

What beautiful coloring... I have never seen a vulture I've liked before, not visually. Not that I mind the naked heads and necks, but rather most of them look so evil, almost foul, and he certainly doesnt.

as for the picture itself, I'm impressed at how sharp the image is. <33

Thank you very much :)

Vultures aren't usually birds I'm attracted to either but there was something really majestic about this one. I have another close up shot coming up soon :D

Ooh, very scary and imposing. I like this and the first picture you put up of the Griffon Vulture. Good job!

Oh, go barf in a bucket, you jerk.

:D thank you very much, a magnificent animal to say the least. Not something I'd want to be chased by in the wild :)

Oh, you're right. All the flapping and squawking and clawing and pecking your eyes out, that'd get pretty scary. I mean, really.

Absolutely beautiful picture from you, again.
I love it how all the different types of feathers are visible and pile on each other.

If you don't mind, I'll borrow in to help in some feathered dinosaur + primitive bird drawings. :)

Sorry for the late reply :)

By all means go ahead and use any image for reference, absolutely no problems with it :D glad you like it!
